On Monday March 27th night, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah attended the inauguration of Bisat Al Reeh's 22nd annual exhibition at the Jeddah Superdome, which was hosted by Her Royal Highness Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The Princess serves as Chairwoman of the National Charity Foundation for Home Healthcare (NHHCF) "We Care" Board of Trustees, and the exhibition's earnings benefit NHHCF programmes that provide medical care to individuals in need.

Bisat Al Reeh, which takes place over six days, is part of the Saudi Ministry of Culture's Ramadan celebrations and is attended by more than 170 local and regional participating entities from over 15 countries.

Abeer Qabbani, President of Bisat Al Reeh Exhibition and Vice President of the National Charity Foundation for Home Healthcare "We Care," welcomed Her Majesty and stated that the Queen's attendance lends great significance to the exhibition and emphasises its global reach, which is evident in this year's iteration's strong international participation.

Jordan River Designs made their debut as a vendor this year, alongside 150 participants from around the world, with a showcase of handcrafted heritage artefacts.

This year's exhibitors will display a wide range of home and leisure products, including home accessories, jewellery, gourmet products, and fashion items.

The exhibition, which was opened by a number of renowned invitees, stands out as one of the most popular events in the kingdom, with a range of activities that allow visitors to interact with the displays and artwork.

Later that evening, Her Majesty attended the inaugural Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah, which was organised by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, a nonprofit organisation formed by the Ministry of Culture in 2020.

Her Majesty was given a tour of the Biennale, which features over 300 works of art, by CEO Aya Al Bakree. These include 40 pieces manufactured by international institutions and around 200 locally produced heritage items that include a number of precious historical artefacts from the Two Holy Mosques.

Themed ‘Awwal Bait’, meaning First House in reference to the Holy Ka’bah in Mecca, the first edition of the Islamic Arts Biennale features over 60 established and emerging artists from around the globe, over 60 new commissions, 280 artifacts, and over 15 never-before-exhibited works of art.

While in Saudi Arabia, Queen Rania will also travel to Mecca to perform the Umrah pilgrimage and hold an Iftar banquet for a number of Jordanian women who are part of Her Majesty’s Ramadan Umrah mission consisting of 500 women from across Jordan.

Later yesterday, Her Majesty joined a new batch of women representing families of security personnel who died in the line of duty, military retirees, social activists and beneficiaries of charity and cooperative associations from various governorates in the Kingdom to perform Umrah at the Mecca.

It was announced last week via the Jordan News Agency, Petra which reported that a total of 550 women were chosen to participate from across the Kingdom, representing families of security personnel who died in the line of duty, military retirees, social activists and beneficiaries of charity and cooperative associations.

The first batch of Queen Rania’s mission to perform umrah (the lesser Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca) in Ramadan was scheduled to head to Saudi Arabia on 5 April.

The first and second batch of the mission will depart on Tuesday and Wednesday from Amman, Irbid, Mafraq, Tafileh, Maan and Aqaba, while the third and fourth batches will depart in the middle of the month from Karak, Madaba, Jerash, Zarqa and Ajloun.

After completing her prayers around the Kaaba, she hosted the ladies to Iftar at one of the halls
