On February 3rd, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah has called for the universal and unconditional application of children's rights, urging the world to reject the status quo that deems some children's suffering acceptable based on their name, faith, or the land of their birth.

She stated that every child has an equal claim to protection and care, regardless of their suffering. Queen Rania highlighted that one in six children on Earth now live in areas affected by conflict, where dozens are killed or maimed daily. They are robbed of every right – to life and security, education, health, privacy, and protection from abuse.

She decried scenes of children's suffering broadcast worldwide on news outlets and social media, stating that their lived reality is too graphic for even adults to watch. She urged the global community to uphold the promise of "every right, for every child" rather than differentiating between young people based on their status.

“In truth, nothing is worth the life of a child,” the Pope said. “To kill children is to deny the future.”

The World Summit on Children's Rights was organized by the Pontifical Committee of the World Children’s Day, which was established by Pope Francis in 2023 to promote the Catholic Church’s mission of advocating respect for the rights and dignity of children. The event gathered distinguished voices and experts from around the world to highlight global challenges to children’s rights that require urgent collective commitment.

The Summit was attended by Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani, Former Italian Prime Minster Mario Draghi, Climate Reality Project Founder and Chairman Al Gore, and Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, among others.

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah urged the international community on Tuesday to increase collective action in the face of humanity's most difficult issues, underlining the importance of collaboration for resolving the world's common difficulties.

In a pre-recorded virtual message broadcast to heads of state, UN officials, private sector executives, humanitarian activists, and thought leaders at the World Humanitarian Forum (WHF), Queen Rania warned against the temptation for humans to turn inside and "focus only on narrow self-interest" in times of crisis.

Her Majesty stressed the need of working together as a global community.

Her Majesty called attention to the international community's shortcomings in acting as a unified front, saying "we're still far from fluent in the language of our common humanity," warning that poor global cooperation threatens everyone "because we don't exist in a world of separate boxes, nor do our problems."

Her Majesty went on to make recommendations on how to improve global collaboration, "To advance better, we must increase our human connectivity - the virtual and the virtuous," she explained. "The 8 billion-strong neuronal network of humanity must be fueled by shared vision and dedication."

According to Queen Rania, despite the need to improve connectivity, mankind can still quickly adapt to difficult times, pointing to advancements made in remote employment, online learning, and hybrid education during the pandemic. The Queen also stated.

His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen and HRH The Crown Prince on September 15th hosted representatives of Arab-American Organisations from across the country for a round table meeting where they discuss various topics affecting the various Arab-American organisations especially during the global pandemic.

His Majesty The King noted and encourage them to continually work with the US administration and institutions to enhance US-Arab bilateral relations, noting the need to maintain engagement with the US administration and various institutions in the United States.

He also commended the Arab community in the US, and their effective role in communicating Arab positions to US decision makers

The meeting covered regional and international developments, especially in Arab countries, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, stressing that the region cannot reach security and stability without a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, based on the two-state solution that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 4 June 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Discussions also covered global and regional economic challenges, especially with the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The King noted the investment opportunities offered by the region, urging leading Arab figures in the US to encourage investors to come to Arab countries.

Moreover, the meeting addressed the situation of refugees in the region and the burden shouldered by host countries, especially amid a drop in support from donor countries and the international community.

For their part, the attendees commended Jordan’s role in defending Arab causes, especially the Palestinian cause, expressing appreciation for His Majesty’s leadership at the Arab and international levels.

The King’s meeting with Arab American figures came as part of a number of meetings His Majesty is holding in the United States, which also included leading business people from various sectors, including tourism, investment, and industry

His Majesty King Abdullah II accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania and His Royal Highness Crown Princess Hussein are all in New York City to attend the 73rd United Nations General Assembly.

Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic and lockdowns in the state of New York and across the World in 2020, The General Assembly went virtual.
