His Majesty King Abdullah took part in a one-on-one panel discussion with Al-Monitor President Andrew Parasiliti on Wednesday at the Middle East Global Summit, which was hosted by the Al-Monitor and Semafor media organisations and attended by worldwide political and media personalities.

In response to the United States' efforts to broker peace between Saudi Arabia and Israel, the King stated that such a step "brings us through a new horizon," but that "part of the challenge is with the Israeli government." His Majesty King Abdullah emphasised Jordan's desire to collaborate with Spain during its next European Union presidency to assist develop a political vision that would safeguard the possibilities of just and lasting peace for Palestinians and Israelis.

"Our joint commitment to peace is evident in supporting the two-state solution as the path forward in resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict," King Abdullah stated during a meeting with King Felipe VI of Spain in Madrid, attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah and Her Majesty Queen Letizia.

His Majesty stated at the meeting, which was also attended by His Royal Highness Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II, that peace based on the two-state solution is critical to securing peace and prosperity in the area and beyond.
