 On Monday June 12th, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah attended the King Hussein Cancer Foundation's (KHCF) 2023 Hope Gala fundraising event in Amman, which was hosted by Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania.



The event aims to promote projects that help Jordan and the region combat cancer, such as the creation of specialised centres around Jordan under the umbrella of the King Hussein Cancer Centre (KHCC). The forthcoming King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Building in Aqaba, as well as two other structures in Amman for paediatric treatment and cancer research, are among them.




Their Royal Highnesses Prince Talal bin Muhammad, special adviser to His Majesty, and Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the KHCC and KHCF, as well as Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh and Former Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam, were in attendance at the event.


Princess Ghida remarked about the foundation and center's continuous work to promote accessible cancer care during her speech. "We pledge to continue our fight against cancer, recognising it as an adversary that is both formidable and deceptive, and one that we must not tolerate," Her Royal Highness added.




Several cancer survivors and high-level partners were honoured throughout the night.

 Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on Thursday hosted an official dinner banquet at Al Husseiniya Palace in honour of Jordan’s guests on the occasion of the wedding of Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein.



The dinner banquet saw the attendance of members of the Royal Family, members of Alseif family, as well as leaders, crown princes, and figures from many Arab and friendly countries, who are visiting Jordan.



Iraq President Abdul Latif Rashid and his wife, Shanaz, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah of Malaysia and his wife Queen Azizah Aminah, Queen Jetsun Pema of the Bhutan Kingdom and her sister in law HRH Princess Eophema, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and his wife Queen Máxima, and King Philippe of the Belgians and his daughter Crown Princess Elisabeth attended the banquet.



In addition, Bahrain Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, William, Prince of Wales, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, Denmark Crown Prince Frederik, Sweden Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, Norway Crown Prince Hakoon and Princess Beatrice and her husband Mr. Edo Mopelli were also in attendance.



The attendees additionally included Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, the minister of culture, sports and youth of Oman, and Prince Mateen bin Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei.


Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq Masrour Barzani, Rwanda President Paul Kagame, United States’ First Lady Jill Biden, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser of Qatar, and Princess Hisako and Tsuguko of Japan attended the banquet as well.


A number of senior Jordanian officials also attended the banquet.

The bride entered the banquet dinner in a beautiful white Dolce&Gabbana Alta Moda gown. The cap-sleeved gown boosted a more intricate silhouette adorned with elaborate embroidery with forms of large swirling patterns also boasted a deeper neckline. She accessorized it with an elbow-length gloves with her wedding tiara.


Her Majesty wore her trusted Elie Saab S/S 2023 beige couture collection gown with a heavily embellished fitted bodice showcased exquisite embroidery, Pearl applique which went down along the skirt's edges as well as the attached trailing cape.



She wore with it her Royal family sash and her 2005 Yan Sicard for Fred Arabic Scroll Tiara with Arabic inscription, "Allah is Great," Elie Saab Minaudière Clutch in White (Custom Made), Jennifer Chamandi Lorenzo 105 Pumps in Beige Suede Elaphe 


Princess Iman wore her modified Giambattista Valli Haute Couture 24 Collection Gown, Bottega Venetta in Antique Rose Silk Knot Intrecciato Clutch, Princess Iman’s wedding Arabic Calligraphy Diamond Fringe Tiara



Princess Salma wore her Dolce & Gabbana Long Sequined Halter Dress in Lilac and her mother's Boucheron Bracelet Tiara

 Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania Al Abdullah hosted a wedding reception for Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein on Thursday.



The reception was attended by members of the royal family, Alseif family members, Jordan's visitors, and Jordanian invitees.





Their Royal Highnesses were escorted to Al Husseiniya Palace by the Red Motorcade, which had driven through the streets of Amman following their marriage ceremony at Zahran Palace.




They were greeted with a sword salute and a unique song produced for the wedding by renowned artists Mohammad Abdo of Saudi Arabia and Omar Abdallat of Jordan.






After the wedding, ceremony, before the Red Motorcade drive through Amman's streets, the couple did a photoshot with all members of the Jordanian Royal Family who were invited and another with the siblings, cousins, in laws, nieces and nephews of the Crown Prince





The reception also featured a number of Jordanian and Arabic songs, as well as traditional and folk dances.






Their Majesties, Their Royal Highnesses, and Princess Rajwa’s parents shook hands with the reception’s invitees.



Cake details:

The gala event includes a zaffa wedding procession and traditional music dancing with an ancestral sword, the newlyweds cut through their 7-tier wedding cake. The cake was adorned with edible flowers in various colours of blue, which represent trust and commitment and are supposed to last for years. 



Look Details:

For her wedding ceremony, the new Princess wore a masterpiece creation of a long-sleeved gown featured an asymmetrical neckline, which exuded a sense of timeless beauty from go to Lebanese designer Elie Saab. The gown was crafted using crepe fabric, and took 20 people and a total of three months to complete, featuring 550 petales, 6kgs of pearls, crystals & beads.



She accessorized it with a cathedral elaborate veil that trailed meters, chandelier earrings and a diamond tiara designed by Yan Sicard from Fred Jewelry. The tiara features adorned with Arabic calligraphy on the side, reading: “Rajwatum min Allah” which translates to “A hope from Allah” and the name “Rajwa” means “hope” in Arabic. And paired it with white D'Orsay flats


For Her Majesty, in her graceful and elegant self wore a black high-necked collar and wide cuffs with gold intricate gold embroidery gown with a gold embroidered back panel from Dior F/W 2022 Couture collection. 



Paired with dangling gold earings and a Dior custom gold embroidered handbag and Dior black suede platform pumps


For Princess Iman, she wore a bespoke taupe-color Ashi Studio Dress, her mother's ARABESQUE SILVER THREAD BIG BOX by Sarah's Bag in Silver Thread and her Jennifer Chamandi Vittorio 105 Bespoke Pumps in Beige Nappa 



For Princess Salma, she wore Stella McCartney Aqua Blue cape-sleeve asymmetric maxi dress and Jennifer Chamandi Lore 65 Leather Pumps in Gold

 His Majesty King Abdullah continued his discussions with the United States Congress on Wednesday February 1st, meeting with the Senate Armed Services, Appropriations, and Foreign Relations Committees.



The sessions focused on the role of Jordan and the United States' strategic alliance in fostering peace in the region, increasing frontiers of collaboration in numerous fields, and continuing coordination and consultation on topics of mutual importance.




The sessions, which were attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, focused on the most recent regional and international developments, the most pressing of which is the Palestinian struggle.


During the meetings, which included Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, King Abdullah praised the United States for its leadership in the region and around the world, and expressed gratitude for its assistance to the Kingdom in a variety of areas.




His Majesty reaffirmed Jordan's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, calling for increased international efforts to restore calm and de-escalation, and reiterating Jordan's rejection of unilateral measures that undermine peace prospects and push the region into further violence and instability.


Jordan, according to the King, is eager to continue working with the United States and the international community to create a political horizon that allows for the resumption of serious Palestinian-Israeli negotiations for just and comprehensive peace, based on the two-state solution, guaranteeing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 4 June 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living side by side with Israel in peace and security.



Meeting with FLOTUS:

Later in the evening, Her Majesty Queen Rania was hosted by the First Lady of the United States(FLOTUS) Dr. Jill Biden in her offices at the White House.

Their Majesty King Abdullah II and Queen Rania attended in June 23rd 2003 the IMC Fundraiser. HM Queen Rania was speaking at a fundraising dinner, organized by the STARS Foundation in partnership with the International Medical Corps (IMC), in aid of Iraqi children suffering from leukemia and for the rehabilitation of the Iraqi health sector.

Addressing an audience of over 700 delegates participating in the World Economic Forum’s Extraordinary Meeting at the Dead Sea, Queen Rania, Chairperson of the Foundation’s Advisory Council, noted that the first group of Iraqi children is already in Jordan receiving treatment at the King Hussein Cancer Center.
