On February 22nd, His Majesty King Abdullah II accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania welcome the Albanian Presidential Couple, His Excellency President Bajram Begaj and Her Excellency First Lady Armanda Begaj in Jordan at Al Husseinya Palace

King Abdullah II held talks with Albania President Bajram Begaj, during which they discussed ways to expand cooperation and enhance relations between Jordan and Albania.

During the talks, attended by Queen Rania Al Abdullah and Albania’s First Lady Armanda Begaj, His Majesty said this visit is an opportunity to further strengthen relations between the two countries, as last year saw an exchange of visits and coordination that culminated in a round of Aqaba Process meetings in Jordan on the topic of interfaith dialogue.

The King expressed best wishes to the Albanian people on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, which he said serves as a reminder of the values shared by both countries and their joint efforts to promote harmony and dialogue.

Speaking about the situation in the region, His Majesty commended Albania’s support for efforts to restore stability, achieve peace, and realise the two-state solution.

During the talks—attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, His Majesty’s chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy—the two leaders affirmed that dialogue and peaceful solutions are the only way to achieve regional calm and resolve conflicts.

The King also highlighted the need to respect the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of states.

For his part, the Albanian president affirmed that his visit to Jordan would contribute to strengthening partnership in the areas of investment, security, tourism, and development, pointing to the significant potential for enhancing joint economic activity.

President Begaj noted that his visit to the Kingdom included a number of religious and tourism sites, pointing to the need to strengthen relations between the two peoples and encourage exchanges of visits by establishing a direct flight route between Jordan and Albania.

The Albanian president expressed his country’s commitment to increasing stability and prosperity in the region and the world, praising His Majesty’s leadership and efforts to achieve stability and peace in the region through the two-state solution.

The talks also covered the overall situation in the region, with His Majesty stressing the need to step up international efforts to stop illegal measures aimed at consolidating settlements and imposing Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank.

The King warned of the danger of increasing violations of Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

His Majesty reiterated the need for all parties to commit to implementing the agreement to end the war on Gaza, and ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid to all areas of the Strip.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, Health Minister and Escort of Honour Ibrahim Bdour, Jordan’s non-resident Ambassador to Albania Zuheir Nsour, and Albania’s Ambassador to Jordan Sami Shiba attended the talks.

On February 3rd, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah has called for the universal and unconditional application of children's rights, urging the world to reject the status quo that deems some children's suffering acceptable based on their name, faith, or the land of their birth.

She stated that every child has an equal claim to protection and care, regardless of their suffering. Queen Rania highlighted that one in six children on Earth now live in areas affected by conflict, where dozens are killed or maimed daily. They are robbed of every right – to life and security, education, health, privacy, and protection from abuse.

She decried scenes of children's suffering broadcast worldwide on news outlets and social media, stating that their lived reality is too graphic for even adults to watch. She urged the global community to uphold the promise of "every right, for every child" rather than differentiating between young people based on their status.

“In truth, nothing is worth the life of a child,” the Pope said. “To kill children is to deny the future.”

The World Summit on Children's Rights was organized by the Pontifical Committee of the World Children’s Day, which was established by Pope Francis in 2023 to promote the Catholic Church’s mission of advocating respect for the rights and dignity of children. The event gathered distinguished voices and experts from around the world to highlight global challenges to children’s rights that require urgent collective commitment.

The Summit was attended by Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani, Former Italian Prime Minster Mario Draghi, Climate Reality Project Founder and Chairman Al Gore, and Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, among others.

On February 04th 2025, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, accompanied by Italian First Lady Laura Mattarella, paid a visit to the 'Jordan: Dawn of Christianity' exhibition at the Palazzo della Cancelleria in Rome on Tuesday, where she encouraged Europeans to visit Jordan and discover its rich legacy.

The month-long exhibition, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II, is a collaboration between Jordan's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Jordan Tourism Board, and the Vatican.

Her Majesty and the Italian First Lady inspected the exhibition, which included 90 artefacts from over 30 distinct archaeological sites in Jordan, with the goal of highlighting the country's historical relevance to Christianity.

Queen Rania of Jordan has invited visitors to an exhibition commemorating 30 years of diplomatic ties between the country and the Holy See. The exhibition showcases Jordan's exceptional cultural wealth and its thriving Christian community, one of the oldest in the world. The Queen praised Jordan's hospitality and the rich history of its ancient civilizations. The displays trace the evolution of Christianity in Jordan across various time periods, from the baptism of Christ to the present Hashemite era.

According to Her Majesty's website, "The exhibition also features artifacts from five pilgrimage sites in Jordan, including Mount Nebo, the memorial of Prophet Moses; Tel Mar Elias, the birthplace of Prophet Elijah; Our Lady of the Mountain Church, a shrine commemorating Mother Mary; Machaerus, the site of John the Baptist’s martyrdom; and the Baptism Site of Jesus Christ.

Coinciding with the Vatican’s Holy Jubilee Year under the theme ‘Pilgrims of Hope’ and featuring archeological items never before displayed outside of Jordan, the exhibition aims to serve as an open invitation for the world to explore Jordan’s spiritual and cultural treasures and its rich biblical landscape.

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah paid a visit to Belfast's Conway Education Centre on Tuesday October 3rd, where she met with asylum seekers, refugees, members of the local community, and Belfast City Council representatives to learn about the experiences of displaced people in Northern Ireland.

Speaking to a group of asylum seekers, including children, from the Middle East and Africa, Queen Rania emphasized the crucial work done by the city and people of Belfast to support their refugee community, saying that their continued dedication demonstrates their "generosity of spirit."

Her Majesty praised the Conway Education Centre for giving a lifeline to refugees and asylum seekers by providing a venue where people can develop friendships, rediscover their sense of community, and find "a new lease on life."

She also called successful integration of refugees into resettlement countries as "difficult to quantify," because it provides them with a sense of dignity and belonging, which helps them become productive members of their new communities.

Conway Education Centre began offering English language classes, a homework club for primary and secondary school students, and an annual summer school for refugee families in 2015 to support the city's rising refugee community. The programmes, which are run by teachers and trained volunteers, aim to assist refugees in integrating into the community.

Conway has developed a capacity-building programme to help adult migrants build on their existing abilities and increase their independence, based on input from refugees who have taken its courses. The Belfast City Council-supported programme provides recognised English language, ICT, and advocacy training, as well as parenting classes.

Members of the Art Route Collective, a project founded in 2016 to promote creative and cultural activities within Belfast's refugee and asylum-seeking community, attended the conference in addition to participants in Conway's many refugee programmes.

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah advised young leaders to make the most of their time in order to advance the cause of peace, describing it as a "lifelong mission" that takes "not only every ounce of our strength, but every ounce of our time."

Queen Rania delivered her words in the United Kingdom on Monday October 2nd, speaking to a crowd of nearly 2,000 youth activists and leaders at the One Young World Summit in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This year's summit marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Good Friday Agreement between the British and Irish governments in Belfast.

Her Majesty recalled how the signing of this accord prompted His Majesty the late King Hussein to remain hopeful about attaining peace in the Middle East in 1998. She also emphasised King Hussein's role in the Wye River discussions, which took place the same year he was diagnosed with cancer and began chemotherapy.

She claimed that, despite his failing health, he insisted on travelling to the United States to press for the signing of a memorandum between Palestinians and Israelis aimed at restarting the Oslo II Accord.

"He saw our time on earth for what it is: finite, fragile, and never to be taken for granted," she said. She also quoted the late King, who declared during the signing of the accord, "If I had an ounce of strength, I would have done my utmost to be here, and to help in any way I can."

"Cancer reminded King Hussein once more of how precious time is." And, once again, he opted to live in the now..."He wanted to make every moment count so that future generations could live in peace," she explained.

Her Majesty noted that, despite the finite nature of time, "hope can withstand the test of time," and that individuals can "extend the time we have by using it well."

The Queen also emphasised the gravity of the world's most pressing issues, ranging from political polarisation to mounting refugee crises, climate change, and persistent discrimination and gender inequity.

"At a time when we're talking about advanced technologies like AI, it's absurd that many people still believe that the colour of one's skin determines their worth." And it's unfortunate that gender equality remains a goal rather than a reality," she said.

Noting that the Palestinian-Israeli issue remains a notable example of an ignored emergency in need of peaceful settlement 25 years after the Wye River Memorandum, Her Majesty drew attention to the injustice and cruelty that Palestinians face on a daily basis.
