On Tuesday December 13th, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah joined the people of Fuheis for the lighting of the Christmas tree at the Al Qanater Amphitheater, followed by a visit to the holiday market and art gallery in the Haret Al Rowaq neighborhood.
The mayor of Fuheis, Omar Akroush, the governor of Mahis and Fuheis, Sattam Al Majali, the deputy governor of Al Balqa, Ali Al Batayneh, the president of the Jordanian church council, Archbishop Christophorus Attallah, Father Romanos Samawi, Father Boulos Haddad, and Father Emad Twal all greeted Her Majesty.
The tree-lighting ceremony, which was sponsored by the Municipality of Fuheis in partnership with the Fuheis Youth Club and other civil society groups, included speeches from Mayor Akroush and Archbishop Attallah as well as a choir performance of Christmas carols.
