Hello Hello everyone, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy New Years 2018 to you all and welcome to my end of year message.
I have to say I was kind off undecided in writing this post since I wasn't sure if there will be any upcoming activities from Her Majesty before the Christmas break like she usually does(Well her last engagements in 2016 was on December 13th and this year it was quite earlier than that December 10th), but after seeing a couple of paparazzi shot of her at Los Angeles International Airport (L.A.X) in Los Angeles, California I saw it fit to write a resume of this years' activities and fashion.
Well if I have to summarise this year I will say education, health, arts, humanitarian were the theme. There was a lot of travelling both international and national wise. Nationally Her Majesty visited the Al Zarqa Governate a number of times as well as Al Salt. Internationally Her Majesty went on quite a lot of working visits both alone and accompaning His Majesty King Abdullah II to Turkey, USA, Saudi Arabia, UK and Bangladesh.
A highlight of this year was Her humanitarian visit to Bangladesh. As we all saw in our various media outlets, Bangladesh is now home to Rohingya Muslims running away from denounces Ethnic Cleansing happening in their home country of Myanmar. Many of them live in the Kutupalong Refugee Camp and its surrounding in the Cox’s Bazar region of Bangladesh. She gave remarks to the press during a visit on Monday of the “shocking escalation of violence against the Muslim Rohingya minority in Myanmar,” which has caused over 600,000 Muslim Rohingya to flee from Myanmar’s Rakhine State since August. As many of you know Her Majesty is a vocal voice on discrimination, ethnic cleansing and refugees, she decried their habitats, situation and treatments together with the weak response from the international community in her message.
This year we also saw the Crown Prince graduating for Sandhurst Military Academy after completing 9 months of training, His Majesty celebrating his 55th birthday, Their Majesties celebrating their 24th wedding anniversary(Next year will be a milestone one. Party time), Jordan's 71 National Day(What Royal Jordanian calls their 71st year after brexits), Prince Hashim celebrating a milestone birthday as well as his sisters Princesses Iman and Salma's.
Style:
Just like her events which were a mixture of everything one thing’s for certain Her Majesty have given us plenty of wardrobe inspiration for the foresable future more like next month(you all 2018 is in 2 weeks someone pinch me)
I will go through my top 10 styles of 2017(In no particular order) and my disappointments. P.s I need to do another 2018 style prediction soon.
1) Attending National Day in that not so confirmed but still waiting Valentino Cape dress with intricate design
2) Prints + Maxi Dress looks perfect, like she wore Figue and Ulla Johnson
3) Embroidered, Knitted and or embellishments
4)Statements pieces:
5) Relax mode:
6) Evening, soirees
7) Culottes:
8) Day, Office, geometry
9) MonoChrome and single colors
10) Warm, winter
I am quite disappointed that this year Her Majesty didn't wear any Jordanian designer this year and they have been no state visit.
To conclude this style post I will like to thank a couple of people who helped on this blog to make it what it is today: Heaven and the Ladies of UFONomore who helped in id many items, passion__4_fashion and http://jordanianroyals.tumblr.com/ and myself for keeping up with Her Majesty's schedule.
2018 predictions:
For 2018, unfortunately we never get a schedule ahead of time due to security reasons but I see a full and busy 2018, a maybe attendance at the May 19th royal wedding in the United Kingdom between Prince Henry and Ms. Meghan Markle(if I get confirmation you can be sure to have a style prediction for that as well), the postpone state visit to the Netherlands and a few more.
Blog updates:
Starting January 1st I will be done with the Princes Hussein and Hashim's fashion.
Outside of Queen Rania, I will be creating three blogs dedicated to the works of three other of my favorite royal ladies: Princess Astrid of Belgium, Birgitte Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Ghida Talal of Jordan.
And with that see you all next year.
