On Monday, May 16th, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited Abu Dhabi where she paid her respects following the death of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the late President of the United Arab Emirates. Their Royal Highnesses Princess Alia bint Al Hussein and Princess Aisha bint Al Hussein, as well as Her Highness Princess Zeina Al Feisal, accompanied Her Majesty.

During her brief visit, Queen Rania expressed her heartfelt condolences to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and Mother of the Nation. Her Highness Sheikha Shamsa bint Suhail Al Mazrouei, the late Sheikh's wife, also received her condolences.
