Their Excellencies Federal President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen and First Lady Doris Schmidauer visited Jordan earlier today for a bilateral talks with Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania.
Her Majesty Queen Rania accompanied King Abdullah II welcome Their Excellencies at the Al Husseinya Palace.
On arrival Their Majesties The King and the Queen led an official welcoming ceremony for the presidential couple upon their arrival at Al Husseiniya Palace. His Majesty and President Van der Bellen reviewed a guard of honor as a military band played the national anthem of both countries.
The two head of states held talks at Al Husseiniya Palace on means to expand cooperation, as well as the latest regional and international developments.
During an expanded meeting that followed bilateral talks and which was attended by their spouses and senior officials on both sides, discussions addressed ways to increase trade and bolster economic cooperation, particularly in technical education, agriculture, and tourism.
The talks, which continued over a working lunch attended by Her Majesty and the First Lady as well as senior Jordanian and Austrian officials, covered regional developments and efforts to reach political solutions to various crises.
Following that Her Majesty welcome First Lady Doris Schmidauer for a private talk in the next room while their spouses continue their talks
Later in the evening, Her Majesty attended the Fareed Fakhriddin’s exhibition "Tarjamat", beautiful art inspired by the late Mahmoud Darwish’s poetry
