Earlier today Her Majesty Queen Rania made a surprise visit to Northern Rabahiya Coeducational Secondary School in Amman, where she spoke and with the school’s students and teachers.
Yesterday Her Majesty was in Bangladesh and visited the Kutupalong Refugee Camp and its surrounding in the Cox’s Bazar region of Bangladesh. She gave remarks to the press during a visit on Monday of the “shocking escalation of violence against the Muslim Rohingya minority in Myanmar,” which has caused over 600,000 Muslim Rohingya to flee from Myanmar’s Rakhine State since August
During a tour of the public school, Her Majesty dropped by several classrooms and school facilities. The Queen also visited the school’s Resource Room, which offers Arabic and math lessons to students from grade one to three, as well as adapted lessons for students with learning disabilities.
The Queen joined students’ conversations about their studies, and listened to a brief on the school’s various extracurricular activities.
She also spoke with school principal Suheir Orabi, who said the school is working towards the launch of a number of initiatives to improve students' performance and ensure the effectiveness of the school.
