Although, the younger of the Sovereign's family's university has yet to be confirmed, although it is most likely Georgetown University, his brother's alma mater and the alma mater of many other royal family members.

 Jordan's Princess Salma has graduated from the University of Southern California!



The third child of Jordan's King Abdullah II and Queen Rania, known as "Salma Al Abdullah II" in school, graduates from the University of Southern California (USC) on 12 May 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Archaeology and a minor in Classics. As the princess of Jordan's Hashemite Kingdom, her typical USC cardinal and gold sash has the national flag stitched onto it. Her parents will attend the 140th Commencement Ceremony, which begins at 8:30 a.m. at Alumni Memorial Park.

Princess Salma receives her Bachelor of Arts degree in Archaeology and a minor in Classics from the University of Southern California (USC) on May 12th, 2023. Her parents, Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania, as well as her elder sister HRH Princess Iman and her husband Jameel Thermiotis, attend the graduation ceremony.




At the same occasion, Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan mingle with former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle before taking their seats at the University of Southern California's 140th Commencement on May 12, 2023, at Alumni Memorial Park. Both sets of parents are proud to watch their daughters, Princess Salma and Sasha Obama, graduate with Bachelor degrees in Archaeology and Sociology, respectively.

 On Wednesday April 26th, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah paid a visit to the Jordanian offices of Flat6Labs, where she chatted with a number of local entrepreneurs and startup owners about the potential and obstacles that their developing firms face.



When Queen Rania arrived at Flat6Labs' headquarters in the King Hussein Business Park, she met with General Manager Rasha Manna, Founder Hany Al Sonbaty, and other members of the firm's management team to discuss the company's operations, services, and future goals.



Flat6Labs, a regional startup accelerator and seed fund management organisation, works directly with talented entrepreneurs as a corporate partner, assisting them in expanding their businesses and target markets across the Middle East and North Africa, according to Sonbaty.



Since its inception in Cairo in 2011, the company has spread to six additional locations and hopes to penetrate further emerging markets in the future.



According to Manna, the firm's Amman chapter, which will open in 2021, will provide early stage finance and support services to bright Jordanian entrepreneurs, with a special emphasis on technology and innovation. Flat6Labs Jordan intends to invest in more than 90 early-stage firms in technology-driven industries including as education, healthcare, gaming, electronics, renewable energy, manufacturing, agriculture, and finance throughout the first five years.



Manna also informed Her Majesty about Flat6Labs' training and support programmes, which offer non-financial services to help entrepreneurs expand faster.  The company connects participating entrepreneurs with a network of hundreds of business mentors, investors, and corporations, facilitating business and learning opportunities to help them progress.



The Queen met with a number of entrepreneurs and startup owners who have previously benefited from Flat6Labs programmes during her visit to learn about their experiences as business owners in the kingdom. She also observed a training session for the firm's current batch of entrepreneurs.



Flat6Labs has offices in Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, Beirut, Tunis, and Bahrain, in addition to Cairo and Amman. To date, the firm has assisted over 370 startups and 1,000 entrepreneurs across the region while managing a number of seed funds totaling $85 million USD.


Flat6Labs has over 25 institutional investors in the Middle East, allowing them to provide companies with money ranging from 50,000 USD to 500,000 USD to help them through the early phases of their businesses.

 On Friday February 25th, His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, departed for Abu Dhabi.


Their Majesties were received by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

An official welcoming ceremony was held for His Majesty King Abdullah II upon arrival in Abu Dhabi

During the visit, King Abdullah held talks with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, covering the deep-rooted bilateral ties, and means of enhancing economic cooperation, in addition to regional and international developments.

Whilst His Majesty met with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Her Majesty Queen Rania held talks with Her Excellency Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs. 


According to a report from WAM, Her Majesty was also received at Al Reef Palace by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, mother of the Crown Prince and Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) Mother of the Nation.


During the meeting, Sheikha Fatima welcomed Queen Rania, wishing her a successful visit and pleasant stay in the UAE. H.H. congratulated her and King Abdullah II of Jordan on winning the Zayed Human Fraternity Award for 2022 in recognition of their efforts and initiatives in consolidating the values ​​of fraternity, tolerance and coexistence among different peoples and cultures.


Her Highness Sheikha Fatima and Queen Rania discussed ways to further enhance the ongoing cooperation between women’s institutions concerned with family and childhood in the UAE and their counterparts in Jordan.

Her Highness briefed Queen Rania on the UAُE’s efforts and initiatives on empowering women in the UAE and enhancing their role in society, in addition to what women have achieved thanks to the opportunities and support they receive to accelerate their contributions to the development of their society and advance its progress at various levels.


Sheikha Fatima added that the leadership in the UAE has always been keen to provide all tools to advance the role of women in the development drive and the UAE National Agenda since the founding of the nation by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his founding brothers.


“President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is following their path in a way that has enabled women to demonstrate their capabilities and achieve success and excellence in various fields inside and outside the country.”


For her part, Queen Rania expressed her appreciation for the achievements made by women in the UAE, who, she said, set a role model for engaging in the development, and contributing to the progress of their society.


She also praised the role of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima in supporting humanitarian work through her qualitative initiatives that contribute to improving the lives of the target groups, especially in the fields of education and health, in addition to Her Highness’ efforts in areas of women’s empowerment.


She expressed her thanks and appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality she received during her visit to the country.
