 On Wednesday March 27th 2024, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met with Save the Children International CEO Inger Ashing, who highlighted the catastrophic conditions of children in Gaza.

 On Tuesday September 12th, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah advocated for a new leadership paradigm that tries to build common ground and inject humanity into decision-making, emphasising the importance of working together to address shared difficulties such as the migration, refugee, and climate crises.

Her Majesty recalled the drowning of a crowded migrant boat in the Mediterranean Sea last June, which killed over 600 people as they attempted to reach Europe, while speaking in London at the CogX Global Leadership Summit, part of the 7th edition of the global CogX Festival.

She noticed how each side of the migration debate interpreted the tragedy as proof of their side of the story, with some blaming Europe's strict migration rules for the calamity, others claimed that Europe's leniency was to blame for the migrants' decision to endanger their lives in the first place.

"When we can't tolerate ideas that challenge our own, we hold their proponents in contempt," Her Majesty added. Rather of "retreating into bunkers of 'we vs. them,' she called for an openness to questioning, saying that unfettered certainty might lead people to "attack each other instead of solving our issues."

"You may believe that certainty is a sign of moral integrity, but is it?" Queen Rania inquired. "Certainty can lead to moral fracture - a code of ethics that registers a sinking ship first as evidence of being right, and only secondarily as tragedy."

Her Majesty also urged for additional worldwide aid to refugee-hosting countries like Jordan, where one of every eight persons is a Syrian refugee. She also called attention to the mounting needs of African countries absorbing refugees from Sudan, where over 4 million people have been displaced since April.

"Doing the right thing means getting things right." And for that, we must think with our hearts," she continued, referencing His Majesty King Abdullah II's decision to welcome hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees to Jordan following the outbreak of the Syrian Civil War in 2011.

"His Majesty understood what was most important. His acts were dictated by his heart. There is a hungry youngster and a desperate mother at our border,' he said. 'How could we refuse them entry?'" according to Queen Rania.

Her Majesty praised Jordanians' compassion, as well as the kindness of host countries now hosting refugees fleeing conflict in Sudan. She did, however, emphasise that conflict-affected nations cannot bear the burden of refugee hosting alone.

"Since July, the World Food Programme has been cutting support for Syrian refugees in Jordan—not because the need has passed, but because new emergencies are breaking out, while donor support has lagged," she said, adding that low- and middle-income countries host 74% of the world's displaced.

The Queen further emphasised the world's unequal response to refugee crises, remarking that four months into the Sudan war, fewer than 30% of donor requests had been met, yet the Ukraine emergency appeal was 70% financed within its first month.

"I don't think we need a supercomputer to explain such discrimination," stated Her Majesty.

"We normalise people's suffering when we demonise them for seeking a better life for their families." "We normalise 11 children drowning each week in perilous Mediterranean crossings," she explained. "In a world of plenty, we normalise people going hungry—not because we can't help them, but because we've chosen not to."

During her speech, Queen Rania stated that in an age "where AI churns out content and code, and where we're connected to everything, everywhere, all at once," it is easy to become distracted and lose concentration. She did, however, emphasise that "progress is not unavoidable." It does not happen automatically. We are the ones who set the path and steer the ship."

"What good is artificial intelligence if we can't use it to elicit genuine empathy?" Queen Rania inquired.

Her Majesty shared that, after spending time with some of the world's most prominent leaders as well as some of the world's most vulnerable people, her perspective on leadership has not only shifted, but inverted.

"I've met people with nothing who share everything in refugee camps from Jordan to Greece to Bangladesh." People who have been brutalised by a selfish world but nevertheless put the lives of others ahead of their own," she remarked. "If the world's most powerless people can act with such strength, what does that say about the rest of us?"

Queen Rania also emphasised the need of "learning how to follow" in leadership and how it can fuel progress in areas such as climate change, which she called as "an existential challenge that demands a global movement."

Under the name of the CogX Festival, the CogX Global Leadership Summit debuted in 2020 and has since welcomed over 3,500 professional speakers from industry, government, education, philanthropy, and other disciplines. The CogX Festival, which debuted in 2014, brings together world leaders, the tech industry, and the general public for in-depth conversations about the ramifications of artificial intelligence and other developing technologies.

 Yesterday Septemeber 22nd, Her Majesty appeared as a special guest and granted an interview with ABC's Good Morning America 3 New York hosts Amy Robach and T.J Holmes.

During the interview, Her Majesty Queen Rania spoke on the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and her attendance at the State Funeral. Her Majesty spoke about the close relations the Kingdom of Jordan have had with the late British Monarch. Jordan was a protectorate of the United Kingdom until the 60's.

She also spoke about how HM Queen Elizabeth II influenced leadership and her impartiality in taking or expressing political views on World Issues. 

She spoke on how the late monarch advised her and was open to advising her as she too became a queen consort at the young age of 28 on how to juggle her many hats.

Then she discussed how misinformation affects the world and it is its greatest threat with how it influences our thinking process to align with misinform people without properly fact checking the news they consume.

She openly discussed about the refugees situation in Ukraine and how different the treatment between refugees in Ukraine and those in other countries like Syria

T.J Holmes and Amy Robach then congratulated Her Majesty on the engagement of her two eldest children TRH Crown Prince Hussein to Ms. Rajwa and Princess Iman to Jameel Alexander Thermiotis a few weeks ago.

Her Majesty expressed her joy and informed us indeed she is happy to be adding new children(children in laws) and how she is planning two marriages next year. She did inform us that both children are getting married next year 3 months after another. Which means Princess Iman may be getting married either in March or September with Crown Prince Hussein getting married in June. 

She also added that she couldnt wait to be a grandmother and a good one at that.

 Today September 21st, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah attended the Earthshot Innovation Summit organised by the Bloomberg Philanthropies during the Climate Week NYC hosted during the United Nations General Assembly.

Her Majesty in her duties as a member of the Council of the Earthshot Price founded in 2020 by the then Duke of Cambridge, HRH Prince William now HRH Prince William, Prince of Wales via through the Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge(now the Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales) made her remarks at the first-ever Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit held in New York on Wednesday on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly week. .

In her introduction, Her Majesty acknowledge the leadership of HRH The Prince of Wales and the influence his late grandmother HM Queen Elizabeth II's leadership and love for the environment as well as her advocacy leading to the creation of the Prize.

She also called for mobilizing collective action and ingenuity to repair the planet, and reaffirmed the transformative power of hope and innovation in the global climate battle. 

Hosted by the UN Special Envoy on Climate Ambition and Solutions, Michael R. Bloomberg, and marking Climate Week in New York, the summit aims to showcase and highlight the impact of groundbreaking climate solutions, and connect the next generation of climate visionaries with influential world leaders.

Founded in 2020 by Prince William and The Royal Foundation, The Earthshot Prize is a global environmental prize and platform to discover, accelerate, and scale trailblazing eco-innovations to regenerate the planet.

Addressing heads of state, top environmental innovators, philanthropists, and prominent business leaders from across the world, Her Majesty cautioned that in this time of heightened volatility, “no one can afford to sit on the sidelines,” and “no one can claim that climate change is somebody else’s problem, or shrug it off for future generations to address.”

“We’re all affected by a warming planet, and decisions being made right now will determine our shared tomorrow. So, we must choose, and we must act as united nations,” she said.

Her Majesty stated that in order to fuel the global fight against climate change and accelerate progress, leaders must join forces and apply their collective ingenuity to repair the planet.

“If we stick together, we can make fixing the climate the greatest project, and greatest achievement, of our lifetimes,” she said.

The Queen explained that while the world is not short on climate science or solutions, it must rally the “political will” to build a safer, healthier, and more stable future.

In a call for unity, Her Majesty envisioned a future where clean, green development enhances the livability of communities, enables greater equity, and feeds a burgeoning global population.

Stressing the urgency of this crisis, the Queen also warned of the dire costs of climate inaction, which are “worse than any nightmare.”

“But let us be driven by hope, not fear, because hope is not passive. It is the ultimate source of renewable energy,” she said, adding that achieving carbon-neutrality can be a journey of innovation, fueled by a spirit of possibility and driven by faith in ourselves.

In addition to hosting finalists and winners of The Earthshot Prize, and celebrating their pioneering eco-innovations, The Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit featured panel discussions, and presentations spotlighting its five key pillars of climate solutions: Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build A Waste-Free World, and Fix Our Climate.

Among those who spoke at the summit were Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern, co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Bill Gates, chair of The Earthshot Prize Christiana Figueres, and actor Matt Damon.

Designed to incentivize change, The Earthshot Prize is an annual prize that catalyzes an Earthshot challenge to urgently scale environmental innovations that can help put the world firmly on a trajectory towards a stable climate, where communities, oceans, and biodiversity thrive by 2030.  On Tuesday March 1st, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah paid a visit to the Twelve Degrees Design and Innovation Studio on Abdali Boulevard, where she met with the studio's personnel and viewed its award-winning product designs.

Her Majesty was greeted at Twelve Degrees by its Founder and Design Director, Sahar Madanat, before meeting with a group of the studio's interdisciplinary engineers and designers, who informed her on their current projects and future plans.

Twelve Degrees is a Jordanian design and innovation agency that focuses in product design, user research, and user experience. Its staff works independently and collaboratively with customers to develop items that address specific needs, such as dinnerware for persons with physical limitations, a wearable smart flashlight, and sustainable furniture manufactured from local agricultural waste.

The Twelve Degrees team described their scientific approach to the many stages of product invention, from market research and concept generation through design development, testing, and prototyping, during the discussion. In addition, the studio provides training courses, user research, and design communication services.

Her Majesty also went on a tour of the Twelve Degrees workshop and saw some of the studio's internationally famous items. She also talked with a group of Twelve Degrees customers and trainees about projects that the studio is presently incubating and developing.

Since its inception in 2013, Twelve Degrees has received over 30 international honors, including the German Red Dot Award, the Australian Good Design Award, and the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) and Spark Design Awards in the United States.
