On Monday, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah paid a visit to the Dar Ne'meh gift shop and café at the Amman Citadel, a project run by the Princess Taghrid Institute for Development and Training (PTI) that serves as a platform for marketing locally made products by women from across the kingdom.

When Queen Rania arrived at the Citadel, she was greeted by PTI Chairwoman Her Royal Highness Princess Taghrid Muhammad, President Mrs. Zein Majali, and Director Mrs. Aghadeer Jweihan, who accompanied Her Majesty on a tour of the facility

Dar Ne'meh, which translates as "The House of Bliss," is a multipurpose facility that includes a gift shop, café, and traditional restaurant that sells Jordanian food, handicrafts, and souvenirs made by women from all over the country. It is located at the Amman Citadel and offers visitors an experience of contemporary Jordanian culture by introducing them to high quality handmade products and allowing them to enjoy traditional dishes and beverages in the heart of one of Amman's most scenic spots.

Her Royal Highness briefed the queen on the project, emphasizing its significance in supporting Jordan's tourism sector by marketing local handcrafted items made by skilled local beneficiaries.

Her Majesty met with some of PTI's beneficiaries after touring the shop and the café to learn about how Dar Ne'meh provides them with employment and personal growth.

Dar Ne'meh, which has a second location in Jabal Al Weibdeh, also sells its wares at local bazaars and on online marketplaces. Over 40 youth and women are employed by the project, which supports over 150 vendors across the country.

Queen Rania also met with some of the graduates of the PTI aftercare program, which is funded by His Majesty King Abdullah through a royal initiative.

PTI is a local NGO that was founded to address the ongoing struggles of orphans and abandoned youth after the age of 16, by empowering them through training, skilling, and opportunities, with the goal of integrating them into their communities and alleviating social stigma. PTI has also recently launched female empowerment initiatives, which provide professional and vocational training as well as employment opportunities to women in order to help them financially.

The institute, which receives international support from foreign organizations and donors, operates centers in eight other locations throughout Jordan to provide its services.
